What is the Sports Premium?
he PE and Sport Premium is a government initiative that provides additional funding to primary schools to improve the quality of physical education (PE), physical activity, and sport. The aim is to ensure that all children develop healthy lifestyles and a lifelong love of physical activity. Schools are expected to use this funding to make sustainable improvements to their PE provision, including increasing participation, improving teaching quality, and offering a broader range of activities.
How Much Funding Do We Receive?
For the current academic year, our school has received £18,470 in Sports Premium funding.
How We Use the Funding

- Transport to sporting events – ensuring all children can participate regardless of background or circumstance.
- Staff CPD (Continuing Professional Development) – providing training to enhance the confidence and competence of our teachers in delivering high-quality PE lessons.
- Additional swimming lessons – helping more pupils meet national curriculum expectations for swimming and water safety.
- High-quality PE equipment – ensuring lessons are engaging, inclusive, and well-resourced.

These clubs are open to all pupils and help promote physical activity beyond the school day.
